Amid the war in the Middle East, the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) has announced relief and support for IB Middle Eastern students.  Through collaborative efforts with IB Middle East schools, the IB has announced guidance and support for coursework and exams in May 2026.

IB Deadlines and Exam Changes

As per the Adverse Circumstances Policy rolled out by IB, the deadlines have been extended. Now, the students will be able to submit their work on April 15, 2026, instead of the original deadline, which was March 15, 2026.

IB Teachers

IB has also taken teachers into account. To assist the IB teachers in these turbulent times, IB has provided them with the Programme Resource Centre (PRC), which is available on their website and provides assistance to the teachers.

IB Students

Similarly, all Middle East IB students are now eligible for Inclusive Access Arrangements (IAA), which provides them with a fair opportunity. The students can reschedule their exam with no additional payment, and they can also submit a refund request if they wish to withdraw from the May 2026 exam.

The same applies to their IB coursework submissions; students can now reschedule the final submission date. Moreover, students may change their school registration for the IB exam.

Just make sure to contact your IB school for more details.

Countries

All these initiatives are applicable to all IB students from Middle East:

  • UAE
  • Bahrain
  • Iran
  • Iraq
  • Israel
  • Oman
  • Palestine
  • Qatar
  • Saudi Arabia
  • Jordan
  • Kuwait
  • Lebanon
